Introduction
My name is Shanyon Storey, and I am in the Education Specialist Degree program in Instructional Technology at Kennesaw State University (KSU). I began the program Spring 2014. I will graduate Fall 2018.
I graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (2000), and in Sociology (1998). Additionally, I graduated from Cambridge College with a M.Ed. in Integrated Studies. I started my career teaching elementary school students with learning disabilities. I currently teach fourth grade students with disabilities using both the collaborative (push-in) and small group (pull-out) models.
KSU's reputation in instructional technology led me to the Specialist's Degree program in the Department of Technology. At the completion of this program, I would like to transition immediately to a Media Specialist, or Coaching position. At some point, I would like to facilitate trainings for professional learning communities.
The purpose of this portfolio is for me to demonstrate mastery of the PSC Instructional Technology standards and the ISTE NETS-C standards. As one can see, there are a series of links below the KSU logo that one may visit. Of particular importance is the "standards" link. Under this link, one will find a series of artifacts and reflections which documents the work I have completed during the course of this program. Each artifact will represent mastery of the standard under which it is represented.
I look forward to meeting the challenges that this program will present, and I am confident that I will graduate with the tools I need to meet my personal and professional goals of becoming a technology literate citizen-
"use appropriate technology to communicate, solve problems, access, manage, integrate, evaluate, design and create information to improve learning in all subject areas, and acquire lifelong knowledge and skills in the 21st century (Colorado Department of education) ."
